This fight amongst other women's fights to vote around the world has led to women like Kamala Harris to become the first African-American, first Asian-American and first woman Vice-President of the United States. This photograph is to remind and honour those women who have fought for equal rights and who have led the way. Mary Mikawoz is a Canadian of Polish descent who follows in the footsteps of a number of artists and photographers in the family. She has studied photography and art from places like Champlain College in Montreal to Algonquin College in Ottawa to the Art Gallery School in Winnipeg. Mary graduated from the University of Manitoba and Red River College. When it comes to photography, Mary feels as if she is inspired by God or the Universe.
