Artist's Description

This is a location near St. Mary's Cove in Newfoundland where we were hiking. The gannets migrate here every year. They are large black and white birds - the biggest seabird in the North Atlantic. Hundreds of thousands of Gannets can be found on the cliffs. From afar, it looks as if the cliffs are spotted white in colour. Gannets can dive-bomb from 30 meters in the air to catch their fish. They can go up to 100 kilometers per hour when they are dive-bombing into the ocean. It is amazing to sit in the cliffs and watch them come and go
